We are looking for a talented and driven individual to join our Platform Development Team at Unicorn Training Group in Bournemouth. This role will require you to design, develop and maintain the Unicorn LMS to the highest quality in terms of design, creative approach and user experience, whilst working within an agile team using up-to-date modern industry standard architecture and technologies that are scalable, easily maintained and upgraded and delivered.

 

Responsibilities

  • Support near continuous deployment builds
  • Enhance and expand the core features of the Unicorn LMS
  • Work within the agreed development working practices of the team
  • Respond to and manage support issues raised to second line and participate in investigation and issue resolution
  • Continuously improve the underlying software
  • Contribute appropriately to issue resolution given balance between service level agreements and project requirements
  • Contribute to the production of releases for:
    • Feaure Releases
    • Interim bug-fix releases
    • Roll out of release
  • Review and support customer data feed setup and imports and single sign on when required
  • Innovate and contribute to ongoing technical and process improvement
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvement (retrospectives)
  • Be committed to supporting the rest of the team in achieving team commitments
  • Contribute to the Scrumban methodology by being an active team member being responsible for the delivery of user stories in a multi-disciplinary and agile manner
  • Assist with ensuring code quality and high team skill-base by participating in pair-programming and similar forms of team support
  • Documentation of working processes and platform architecture
  • Ensure time is logged to improve Management Information and project profitability tracking and help with planning

 

Skills and Competencies

 

Essential:

  • C# (7+) and .NET Framework (4.6+)M
  • Microsoft ASP.NET MVC and Microsoft WebAPI
  • HTML, CSS, XML & Javascript
  • NHibernate
  • JQuery
  • Knockout.JS
  • Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Profiling
  • Test Driven Development, NUnit, Integration Testing and Mocking
  • Dependency Injection
  • Software Design patterns
  • Git version control
  • Experience developing scalable web-based systems
  • Understanding agile software development principles and practices
  • Understanding technical issues and considerations and provide constructive feedback to the development team and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent documentation skills, attention to detail and an ability to communicate detailed technical issues to stakeholders and to the internal business/project team.

We are looking for a talented and driven individual to join the team at Unicorn Training Group in Bournemouth. The role will require you to validate and test existing information security practices and continuously improve the information security of the group whilst enabling the organisation to efficiently and effectively perform its work. This role includes managing and overseeing information security assessments and third-party testing.

 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all information security aspects across the group including internal IT and hosting
  • Continuously improve and test information security across the group
  • Own and manage all information security questionnaires, third party testing, and due diligence
  • Manage vulnerability scanning, intrusion detection, and log monitoring solutions
  • Monitor and review security bulletin releases from hardware and software vendors in use and coordinate patching implementations with Hosting and IT teams
  • Coordinate Disaster Recovery testing and business continuity planning with relevant teams
  • Maintain and manage our Information Security Management System across the group
  • Manage the Information Security Asset Risk Register ensuring new risks assessed and mitigated
  • Oversee the Events, Incidents and Improvements Log
    Manage actions and chase IT/Hosting for completion of ISO related work
  • Work with our Information Security Consultant to ensure Unicorn
  • Training Group maintains its ISO27001 accreditation and extend the scope to any subsidiaries
  • Ensure management information is generated automatically and well managed and presented to the business

 

Skills and Competencies

 

Essential:

  • Solid understanding of IT security best practices
  • Experience testing and analysing IT and information security
  • Excellent knowledge of Anti-Virus and Anti-Malware
  • Good experience of VPN and network security
  • Good understanding of Intrusion Detection, Packet Inspection, and
  • Log Monitoring
  • On premise and cloud based security practices
  • Knowledge of PKI and certificate management practices
  • Knowledge of security access control mechanisms implemented in Microsoft and CISCO environments

 

Desirable

  • Awareness of legislative and legal areas such as Data Protection Act, GDPR, and environmental laws
  • Information Security and IT qualifications such as Microsoft, CISCO, CISSP, CISM, CCP
  • Experience working in a SaaS environment with Co-located Servers and Cloud Services
  • Experience working in an ISO27001 environment
  • Knowledge of PAS 555
  • Understanding of other standards such as Cyber Essentials, PCI DSS or others
